Temeda Introduces New Vehicle and Equipment Inspection Feature for Fleet Managers and Operators

New telematics maintenance module enhancement simplifies the inspection process, eliminates paperwork and allows centralized recordkeeping

Chicago, IL – December 11, 2019  Temeda, a Chicago area Industrial Internet of Things solutions provider, has introduced a new feature to its telematics application that promises to drastically decrease paperwork and provide immediate access to maintenance records. The new Vehicle and Equipment Inspection feature allows operators in the field to perform inspections from anywhere and submit them immediately. Temeda’s fully DOT compliant software solutions help commercial and industrial firms capture and utilize business intelligence for total lifecycle management, productivity optimization and operating cost minimization.

“This highly modernized approach to performing vehicle and equipment inspections is a great addition to our already robust spectrum of asset monitoring support,” said Temeda President and CEO Scott Morey. “In keeping with our mission of providing companies with precision asset management and intelligence tools to improve productivity and save money, the Vehicle and Equipment Inspection module is packed with convenient features to support field personnel and make their jobs easier.”

Not only can users in the field perform complete equipment inspections on their phones using Temeda’s mobile app, they can then assess the inspections in real-time and take appropriate action for assets with warnings or failed inspections. The employee can create maintenance tickets as soon as the asset fails inspection, and fleet managers and service technicians can verify when corrective actions are taken. The module unites all parties connected to the inspection and keeps information updated and in one, central place.

To support the inspection process, users can upload photos and key documents, as well as use their phone’s speech-to-text feature to easily add comments. If a task is failed, photos and comments can explain what happened and why. Users have complete flexibility to customize tasks and inspection types for their particular fleets, and the module is fully compliant with DOT regulations and the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations §396.11. While the mobile app allows the greatest on-the-go flexibility, the vehicle and equipment inspection module is also available on Temeda’s web app.

“Not only is our new asset inspection feature convenient and user-friendly, it also plays an important role in assuring the safety and integrity of company fleets. Vehicles and equipment can be inspected before an asset is ever used, and the app captures complete maintenance history logs to allow for thorough monitoring and recordkeeping throughout an asset’s life,” explained Morey. “We’re always looking for ways to add innovation to the way that our clients do business, and we believe that this technology will transform the way they approach and manage the asset inspection process.”
